SugarKey®
SugarKey® is an herbal medicine developed from a hospital formula based on years of study and clinical experiences. It could help to balance carbohydrate metabolism, assists to relieve symptoms of tiredness, thirst, frequent urination and hunger sensation caused by internal heat or impairment of body fluid, as well as assisting in the improvement of general well-beings.
What are the active ingredients that SugarKey® contains and what are their properties?
SugarKey® contains the following active ingredients. According to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000, each of the ingredients is recognized as below:
Astragalus membranaceus root: known as Huangqi, frequently used to reinforce Qi (vital energy),strengthen the superficial resistance. Apart from these, it has been used for a variety of Qi-deficiency symptoms, etc.
Dioscorea opposite rhizome: known as Shanyao, it has the action of replenishing the spleen and stomach, promoting fluid secretion and benefit the lung, strengthening the kidney and restraining seminal discharge. Its indications include frequency of urination, etc.
Rehmannia glutinosa root: known as Shengdi or Sheng Dihuang (unprepared), it has the property of reducing heat in blood, nourishing the Yin and promoting the production of body fluid. It is used for thirst; deficiency of Yin with internal heat, etc
Polygonatum sibiricum rhizome: known as Huangjing, it is used for weakness of the spleen and the stomach marked by lassitude; dryness in the mouth, dry cough due to deficiency of yin and lung; deficiency of vital essence and blood, etc.
Anemarrhena asphodeloides rhizome: known as Zhimu, acts as to remove heat and quench fire, and to promote the production of body fluid and relive dryness syndrome. It is used for heat in the lung with dry cough, constipation, etc.
Schizandra chinensis fruit: known as Wuweizi, having the actions of arresting discharges, replenishing the Qi (Vital energy), promoting fluid secretion, tonifying the kidney and inducing sedation. Clinically used for nocturnal emission, spermatorrhea, enuresis, frequent urination, spontaneous sweating, night seating, impairment of body fluid with thirst, etc.
Panax ginseng root: known as Renshen, it has a wide-ranged properties including reinforcing the vital energy, promoting the production of body fluid and calming the nerves. It can be used for general weakness with irritability and poor sleep. It is also indicated for thirst due to impairment of body fluid, etc.
What are the dosage changes and long term benefits?
For the first time users, please refer to the
dosage table and select the proper dose according to your specific sugar level.
After taking for 1-2 weeks, Accordingly, the dosage may be reduced gradually to one capsule twice daily taken in the morning and evening, and eventually only one capsule is required for maintenance daily. During the administration of this product, other drugs used for the same treatment may be stopped. Intake of more fruits and vegetables may be allowed.
One may return to one's normal meals in the later stage of medication.
What does SugarKey® do to the body fluids?
The body fluids of most people are slightly acidic nowadays. This is mainly due to the changes in diets which cause cell activities within the body to decline.
What are the attentions and cautions to the dosages of the product?
- Daily maximum dosage should not exceed 5 capsules.
- The best taking time is with meal or 5-10 minutes after meal.
- Do not take this product together with other similar medication.
- Dosage of this product may be reduced accordingly but one should not stop administration.
- 1 capsule may be taken daily.
